Looking forward to cozy afternoons with these books, all from authors I have read from before. Tamora Pierce books are a particular favourite of mine. I have read almost all of her books except for the circle of magic series. I'm eagerly anticipating the paperback version of her newest book Mastiff so that I can buy it and add to my collection!

Swatch: Wet and Wild Walking on Eggshells Eyeshadow Palette

The colours showed up very pigmented on the second finger swatch. The packaging for the Wet and Wild palette is flimsy, but for this sort of price and contents, it really is value for money.

Just for fun, I compared it with Majolica Majorca BR355 and I can say that it cannot compare to the texture and colour payoff of the Wet and Wild palette. I had to use 3 finger swatches to get the colours to show and they did not apply as smoothly as the Wet and Wild palette.

Swatch: Dolly Wink Cream Eyeshadow 01 Gold

Well, I was bored at home... So here goes my first ever swatch!

As seen from the picture, this eyeshadow is very glittery! Not really my type of shadow but the colour payoff is good as the swatch is done with only 2 swipes of my fingers. This can be used as a base with other neutral shadows. The formula feels a little too slick for my tastes though.

I just came back from Hong Kong a couple of days back and now, it is the start a new year of university life. I am still recovering from flu though and it makes me too tired to go out for long periods of time. The long Hong Kong trip was enjoyable though I was not able to haul lots of stuff back due to lack of shopping kakis. I was so disappointed in myself when I was unpacking my stuff after I reached Singapore as after sorting out the gifts for everyone, I found that I had only bought so little stuff for myself. What I was giving away were even more than what I had bought! But still, I am satisfied with what I have bought, only regret is that I did not buy MORE!

These were already the majority of what I had bought for myself. =(

Rant: Jean Yip Unlimited Sessions of IPL Underarms Hair Removal for Lifetime

‎96% OFF on Jean Yip Unlimited Sessions of IPL Underarms Hair Removal for Lifetime! 6 outlets available! | 2011-07-31 Bought from BIGDEAL

I read the T&C carefully before deciding to buy the deal above. However, when I went for the first session, I was informed that I would have to go for 1 session every month for 6 months and 1 session every 2 months else the promotion would be void.

However, I was going to for holiday (GSS) of more than a month soon. Why it was not stated clearly in the T&C itself that the deal would be void if the monthly sessions were not followed? If I have known of this I would not have bought the deal. Also, my friend who went for the deal said that Jean Yip tried to have her underarms mask which cost $680. How funny that the big deal description said there were not hidden cost. The Jean Yip consultant also said that if after 3 sessions the treatment was not doing well, they will void the promotion. To think that the title of the deal was written as UNLIMITED sessions.

I am very disappointed in Big Deal and Jean Yip as I had thought that such well known establishments can be trusted. I will not recommend anyone to buy from them again.

I have left feedback on Big Deal and on Jean Yip facebook page and Jean Yip email. (Silly and) I will call their customer service tomorrow and see what they will say.

Update//: JY's email on their website is not working. The email delivery failed.

Update//: JY said that about voiding the deal if after the 3rd session the treatment was not doing well, it was 'miscommunication'. And, as I have not gone for the treatment yet, I got a refund from bigdeal (<3 Silly!). Well, I'm glad to be rid of the hassle now since they left me a bad impression =)
